Happy New Years

After much encouragement I've decided to start a little blog to share some of our experiences living off grid on the Colorado Front Range, next door to Wonderful Wyoming.

I hope this is the start of a prosperous year for everyone. 2010 went out with a blizzard yesterday and windchill of -41 F, a little cooler than normal for us out here. We have the usual blizzard routine of breaking ice, snow drifts and cracking pipes.
The horses didn't seem to mind the weather too much
Not even the big gusts of blowing snow
But the camera stayed inside, it doesn't like to function very well below 30 degrees

Here is the usual view from the window, this one fro Christmas morning, compared to yesterday's blowing snow. Some of our local pronghorn antelope wandering through on their daily visit and the great state of WY in the background.
